Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 6 large pomegranates

Instructions

  1. Peel The Pomegranates: Wash the pomegranates thoroughly and wipe them dry with a kitchen cloth to prepare for deseeding.
  2. Cut The Pomegranates: Use a sharp knife to cut the pomegranates in half to access the arils (seeds).
  3. Deseed Using the Rolling Pin: Hold one half of the pomegranate over a large bowl with the cut side down. Hit the pomegranate firmly with a rolling pin or meat tenderizer while rotating it to release the arils into the bowl. Remove any remaining seeds manually and discard any white pith.
  4. Repeat Deseeding: Continue the previous step with all pomegranate halves until fully deseeded. You may store the arils in a container refrigerated for up to 2 weeks for fresh juice preparation later.
  5. Make Juice In Blender: Transfer the arils to a high-speed blender jar ensuring no membrane is attached to avoid bitterness. Pulse for 3-4 seconds to crush the arils but keep the hard seeds intact.
  6. Strain The Juice: Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer, pressing with a silicone spatula to extract maximum juice while discarding pulp.
  7. Serve Chilled: Pour the strained juice into glasses, optionally add ice cubes, and serve immediately for best flavor. Refrigerate any leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days and stir before serving.
  8. Alternative Juice Methods – Citrus Press: Cut pomegranates in half horizontally and press juice out using a citrus press. Discard remaining peel and seeds, then enjoy fresh juice.
  9. Alternative Juice Methods – Juicer: Add pomegranate arils directly to a juicer and process to extract the juice, then serve fresh.
