Ingredients

Base

  • 36 Oreos (Original, not double stuffed)
  • 1 package cream cheese (full fat, 8 oz)

Coating and Topping

  • 2-3 cups melted chocolate (white chocolate, can be substituted with semisweet chocolate)
  • 1/4 cup additional Oreos (crushed, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Process Oreos: Add the 36 Oreos into a food processor and pulse until you get fine crumbs, ensuring no large pieces remain.
  2. Combine with Cream Cheese: Add the cream cheese to the Oreo crumbs and pulse again until the mixture is fully combined and smooth.
  3. Form Balls: Scoop out small portions of the mixture and roll each into a small, smooth ball using your hands.
  4. Arrange for Chilling: Place the Oreo balls on a cookie tray lined with wax or parchment paper to prepare them for chilling.
  5. Freeze: Chill the balls in the freezer for about 20 minutes to firm them up for dipping.
  6. Dip in Chocolate: Remove the balls from the freezer and dip each one into the melted chocolate, making sure they are fully coated.
  7. Place on Tray: After dipping, place the coated balls back onto the lined cookie tray.
  8. Add Topping: Quickly sprinkle the additional crushed Oreos on top of each chocolate-coated ball before the chocolate sets.
  9. Set Chocolate: Allow the chocolate coating to set at room temperature for 15-20 minutes until firm.
  10. Optional Finishing Touch: For smooth round balls, use a sharp knife to trim any excess chocolate along the base of each ball before serving.

Notes

  • For best results, use original Oreos rather than double stuffed to maintain the perfect texture.
  • You can substitute white chocolate with semisweet or milk chocolate based on your preference.
  • Chilling the balls before dipping helps the chocolate coat evenly and prevents the balls from falling apart.
  • Keep the truffles stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.
  • If you like, you can decorate further with sprinkles or drizzle additional melted chocolate on top.
