Ingredients

Chicken

  • 2 small chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon poultry seasoning (or salt, pepper, garlic powder mix)

Bread and Butter Mixture

  • 1 Italian style loaf
  • 1 stick unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Alfredo Sauce

  • 1/2 stick unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley

Toppings

  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Prepare and Cook Chicken: Cut the chicken breasts into ½ inch pieces. Place them in a bowl and drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Season with 1 tablespoon of poultry seasoning or a mix of salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Heat a pan over medium heat and cook the chicken until it is golden and cooked through.
  2. Prepare Garlic Butter Mixture: Slice the Italian loaf in half lengthwise. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and crushed red pepper flakes until combined.
  3. Toast the Bread: Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly on the cut sides of the bread halves. Place the bread in a preheated 350°F (175°C) oven and toast for 5-10 minutes. Check at 5 minutes and continue toasting until it reaches your preferred level of crispness and golden color.
  4. Make Alfredo Sauce: Using the same pan where you cooked the chicken, reduce heat to medium-low. Add 1/2 stick of butter and melt it. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Lower heat to low, then add heavy cream, parmesan cheese, and chopped parsley. Simmer gently, stirring continuously for 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Remove from heat.
  5. Assemble the Bread: Spread half of the prepared Alfredo sauce over the toasted bread halves. Layer the cooked chicken pieces on top, sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese, and pour the remaining Alfredo sauce over the cheese and chicken.
  6. Bake to Melt Cheese: Return the assembled bread to the 350°F oven and bake for another 5 minutes, or until the mozzarella cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve: Remove from the oven, slice the bread into 2-3 inch pieces, and serve warm. Enjoy your delicious viral chicken Alfredo garlic bread!

Notes

  • You can substitute the poultry seasoning with a simple mixture of salt, pepper, and garlic powder if preferred.
  • Adjust the amount of crushed red pepper flakes based on your preferred spice level.
  • Use fresh garlic for best flavor, but garlic paste works fine as well.
  • For a crispier crust, broil the bread for 1-2 minutes after the final bake, but watch carefully to avoid burning.
  • Leftover bread can be refrigerated and lightly toasted before serving to refresh.
