Ingredients

For Single Serving

  • 1 ounce amaretto liqueur
  • 1 ounce spiced rum
  • 6 ounces chilled eggnog
  • Optional: whipped cream or whipped topping
  • Optional: cinnamon sticks or ground cinnamon
  • Optional: ground nutmeg

For Pitcher

  • 8 to 10 ounces eggnog (from carton, chilled)
  • 4 to 5 ounces amaretto liqueur
  • 4 to 5 ounces spiced rum

Instructions

  1. Combine Alcohol: In an 8-ounce rocks glass, pour 1 ounce of amaretto and 1 ounce of spiced rum. Stir gently to combine. Add ice cubes if you prefer the drink to be more chilled.
  2. Add Eggnog: Pour 6 ounces of chilled eggnog over the alcohol mixture. Stir well to combine all the ingredients. Taste and adjust the proportions of the alcohol or eggnog if needed.
  3. Garnish and Serve: Optionally, top your drink with whipped cream or whipped topping. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon or nutmeg, or add a cinnamon stick for garnish. Serve immediately for best flavor and freshness.
  4. Pitcher Preparation: To prepare for a group, pour off 8 to 10 ounces of eggnog from the carton into a separate glass. Add 4 to 5 ounces each of amaretto and spiced rum directly into the remaining eggnog carton or a plastic jug. Seal tightly and refrigerate. Shake well before serving to recombine any separated ingredients.
  5. Make Ahead: You can prepare the spiked eggnog pitcher up to 24 hours in advance. Store it covered tightly with plastic wrap or a lid in the refrigerator. Stir or shake well before serving to mix the ingredients thoroughly.

Notes

  • Eggnog contains dairy and should be refrigerated and consumed within 2 days for freshness.
  • The alcohol helps preserve the eggnog slightly but do not leave it out at room temperature for extended periods.
  • Adjust the amount of alcohol based on your taste preference for stronger or lighter cocktails.
  • Use high-quality eggnog and fresh spices for the best flavor.
  • Adding ice is optional depending on how chilled you prefer your drink.
