Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup tahini
  • 2 tablespoons Bragg’s Liquid Aminos or Tamari (for gluten-free option) or soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 4 tablespoons water
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon garlic chili sauce or sriracha (optional, for spice; add to taste)

Instructions

  1. Combine Tahini, Aminos, and Lemon: In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the tahini, Bragg’s Liquid Aminos, and lemon juice until smooth. Note that the mixture will initially become very thick.
  2. Adjust Consistency with Water: Gradually add the water, one tablespoon at a time, whisking after each addition until the sauce reaches your desired consistency.
  3. Add Garlic and Spice: Stir in the minced garlic and garlic chili sauce or sriracha. Whisk until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  4. Serve or Store: Use the spicy tahini sauce immediately as a dip, spread, or drizzle. Alternatively, store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Notes

  • Tahini tends to settle on the shelf, so stir it well before measuring to reincorporate any oil that has risen to the surface.
  • Tahini thickens as a small amount of liquid is added; keep adding liquid gradually while stirring to thin it out into a smooth sauce.
