Ingredients

Tea Base

  • 2-3 black tea bags (Assam, Darjeeling, or English Breakfast)
  • 1 cup water

Milk and Sweetener

  • 1½ cups whole milk
  • 1-2 teaspoons sugar (adjust to taste)

Instructions

  1. Boil and Simmer Tea: In a small saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Add 2-3 black tea bags and reduce heat to a low simmer. Let it gently simmer for 2 minutes to allow the tea to infuse.
  2. Add Milk and Heat: Pour in 1½ cups of whole milk to the saucepan. Keep a close eye to prevent boiling over, allowing the mixture to simmer gently. Remove from heat just before it reaches a boil.
  3. Serve and Sweeten: Remove the tea bags carefully. Pour the royal milk tea into cups and sweeten with 1-2 teaspoons of sugar or more, according to your taste preference. Stir well and enjoy.

Notes

  • Use whole milk for the creamiest texture, but you can substitute with any milk of your choice.
  • Adjust sugar quantity based on your preferred sweetness level or try alternative sweeteners.
  • Do not let the milk boil to prevent curdling and maintain a smooth texture.
  • Tea bags can be steeped longer for a stronger flavor if desired.
  • Serving size is for two cups; adjust ingredients proportionally for more servings.
