Ingredients

Base

  • 8 ounces (226g) brick cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 3/4 cup (180g) sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

Toppings

  • 1 cup (240g) pizza sauce
  • 1 cup (113g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup (60g) pepperoni slices
  • 2 tablespoons freshly grated parmesan cheese

Garnish (Optional)

  • Fresh parsley and/or basil

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking the dip precisely for 18–20 minutes.
  2. Prepare Base Mixture: In a medium bowl, use a handheld or stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment to beat the softened cream cheese, sour cream or Greek yogurt, garlic powder, dried basil, and dried oregano until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  3. Assemble the Dip: Spread the creamy base evenly into the bottom of a 9-inch pie dish, cake pan, or any similar 1.5–2 quart casserole dish. Next, spread the pizza sauce over the cream cheese layer. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top, then arrange the pepperoni slices evenly. Finish by sprinkling freshly grated parmesan cheese over everything.
  4. Bake the Dip: Place the assembled dish into the preheated oven and bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden around the edges.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh parsley and/or basil, if desired. Serve the pizza dip hot alongside crostini, breadsticks, chips, raw veggies, pita wedges, or your favorite dippers.
  6. Store Leftovers: Cover any leftover pizza dip and store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days to maintain freshness.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, substitute sour cream with plain Greek yogurt which adds protein but less fat.
  • You can customize toppings by adding vegetables like diced bell peppers or olives for variety.
  • Serve with a variety of dippers such as breadsticks, tortilla chips, pita wedges, or fresh vegetables.
  • Ensure cream cheese is softened to room temperature for easier mixing and a smoother base.
  • Leftover dip reheats well in the oven or microwave; reheat until warmed through and bubbly.
