Ingredients

1 cup warm milk (about 110°F)

2 teaspoons active dry yeast

¼ cup granulated sugar

¼ cup melted butter

1 teaspoon salt

2 large eggs

4 cups all-purpose flour

2 cups diced peaches (fresh or canned)

½ cup brown sugar

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

4 oz cream cheese, softened

¼ cup butter, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk with a pinch of sugar. Let the mixture sit until frothy, about 5 minutes. Add the remaining sugar, melted butter, salt, eggs, and flour. Mix in the yeast mixture and knead the dough until smooth. Let the dough rise for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
  2. While the dough is rising, combine the diced peaches, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl, mixing well.
  3. Once the dough has risen, roll it out into a rectangle on a lightly floured surface. Spread the peach filling evenly across the dough. Roll the dough up tightly into a log and cut it into 12 slices. Place the rolls into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Let them rise for an additional 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  5. While the rolls are baking, beat together the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth and creamy.
  6. Once the rolls are out of the oven, drizzle the cream cheese frosting over them while they are still warm. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • If using very juicy peaches, toss them with a tablespoon of flour to help thicken the filling.
  • For added crunch, chop some nuts like pecans or walnuts and fold them into the filling.
  • For a lighter frosting, you can use whipped cream cheese or a simple powdered sugar glaze.
