Ingredients

Sandwich

  • 1 hoagie roll
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 6 slices deli black forest ham
  • 6 slices soppressata
  • 6 slices genoa salami
  • 2 slices prosciutto di parma
  • 2 slices provolone cheese
  • 3 slices tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup chopped iceberg lettuce
  • 1/4 cup sliced pepperoncinis
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Hoagie Roll: Cut the hoagie roll in half lengthwise through the middle. Spread the bottom half or the top half evenly with 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise to add creaminess and flavor.
  2. Layer the Ham: Place 6 slices of deli black forest ham on the mayo-spread side, creating folds in the meat to add volume and texture rather than laying the slices flat.
  3. Add the Italian Meats and Cheese: On top of the ham, layer 6 slices of soppressata, followed by 6 slices of genoa salami, then 2 slices of prosciutto di parma. Next, add 2 slices of provolone cheese to complete the savory layers.
  4. Include Fresh Vegetables: Place 3 slices of fresh tomatoes, followed by 1/2 cup of chopped iceberg lettuce, and 1/4 cup of sliced pepperoncinis on top of the meat and cheese layers for a fresh, tangy crunch.
  5. Season and Finish: Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste over the layered ingredients. Place the top half of the hoagie roll over the fillings to close the sandwich.
  6. Serve: Slice the sandwich in half for easier handling and enjoy immediately for the best fresh flavors.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a few more pepperoncinis or use spicy soppressata.
  • Substitute mayonnaise with mustard or pesto for a different flavor profile.
  • Toast the hoagie roll lightly before assembling to add extra crunch and warmth.
  • Use freshly sliced meats from your deli for the best flavor and texture.
  • Wrap leftovers tightly and refrigerate; best consumed within one day.
