Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

1/2 cup sliced Provolone cheese

1/4 cup Panko breadcrumbs

2 tbsp melted butter

1 tsp garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease or line a baking dish with foil.
  2. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Sear in a skillet over medium-high heat for 3–4 minutes per side until browned.
  3. Transfer chicken to the prepared baking dish and bake for 15–20 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  4. Meanwhile, mix Parmesan, Panko breadcrumbs, melted butter, and garlic powder in a small bowl.
  5. Once the chicken is cooked, place Provolone slices on top of each breast and spoon the Parmesan-Panko mixture over them.
  6. Broil for 2–3 minutes until the cheese is melted and topping is golden and crispy. Watch closely to prevent burning.
  7. Remove from oven, garnish with chopped parsley if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
  • Swap Provolone with Mozzarella or Fontina for a different flavor.
  • Use crushed pork rinds instead of Panko for a keto-friendly version.
  • Reheat in an air fryer to maintain crispiness.
  • Freshly shredded Parmesan is recommended for best texture and flavor.
