Ingredients

6 quarts water

1/2 cup Old Bay Seasoning

2 pounds new red potatoes

2 pounds hot smoked sausage links (or kielbasa), cut into 2-inch pieces

6 ears corn on the cob, husked and quartered

4 pounds large fresh shrimp, unpeeled

Instructions

  1. In a large stockpot, bring water and Old Bay seasoning to a boil over high heat.
  2. Add red potatoes and cook for 15 minutes.
  3. Stir in sausage pieces and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  4. Add corn and cook for 5 more minutes.
  5. Add shrimp and cook until pink and opaque, about 5 minutes.
  6. Drain the pot immediately and serve hot, traditionally on a newspaper-covered table for hands-on dining.
