  • 2 oz. curly kale, stems removed (measured without stems)
  • 1 medium Fuji apple, chopped
  • 1/2 medium cucumber, chopped
  • Juice from 1/2 lemon (or more to taste)
  • 1 1/2 – 2 cups filtered water

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Remove the stems from the curly kale and chop the Fuji apple and cucumber into smaller pieces for easier blending or juicing.
  2. Add to Blender: Pour 1 1/2 to 2 cups of filtered water into a high-speed blender first. Then add the kale, chopped apple, cucumber, and freshly squeezed lemon juice.
  3. Blend: Blend the mixture on high for 30 seconds to 1 minute until it becomes completely smooth and no chunks remain.
  4. Strain Juice: Place a fine mesh strainer over a large bowl and pour the blended mixture through it. Use a spoon or spatula to press down on the pulp, extracting all of the juice.
  5. Serve or Refrigerate: Serve the kale tonic immediately over ice or with sparkling water for a fizzy twist. Alternatively, refrigerate the juice for up to 2 days to enjoy later.
  6. Juicer Option: Alternatively, use a high-quality juicer to juice all of the ingredients directly, then dilute the resulting juice with 1 to 2 cups of water depending on your preferred strength. Serve chilled.
