Ingredients

4 fresh peaches

1 tablespoon unsalted butter

2 tablespoons brown sugar (adjust to taste)

½ teaspoon cinnamon powder

¼ teaspoon ginger powder

A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Cut each peach in half vertically and remove the seed.
  2. In a pan or skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and salt to the pan. Stir to combine until the sugar dissolves into the butter.
  4. Place the peach halves, cut side down, into the pan. Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the cut side becomes browned and caramelized.
  5. Gently flip the peaches over and cook the other side for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Serve the caramelized peaches hot with ice cream, yogurt, pancakes, or other dishes of choice.

Notes

  • Substitute peaches with nectarines, apples, or other firm fruits.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding more brown sugar or using honey/maple syrup instead.
  • For a plant-based version, use vegan butter or coconut oil.
  • Increase cooking time for a smokier, charred flavor if desired.
  • If you don’t have cinnamon or ginger, you can use nutmeg or allspice, or omit them altogether.
  • Reheat leftovers in a pan or microwave for a few seconds.
