Ingredients

1 (10 oz) jar maraschino cherries with stems

8 oz amaretto liqueur

6 oz white chocolate, melted

1/4 cup sliced almonds, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Drain the liquid from the jar of maraschino cherries. Return cherries to the jar and pour in amaretto liqueur, fully covering the cherries. Seal and let soak for at least 12 hours or overnight.
  2. Drain the cherries and transfer them to paper towels. Pat gently to dry thoroughly.
  3. Melt the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in short bursts or in a double boiler until smooth.
  4. Dip each cherry 3/4 of the way into the melted white chocolate, then roll in the chopped sliced almonds.
  5. Place dipped cherries on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate until the chocolate is set.

Notes

  • Pat cherries completely dry before dipping to help the chocolate stick.
  • These can be enjoyed plain (without dipping) straight from the amaretto jar.
  • Use sprinkles instead of almonds for a festive twist.
  • Dipped cherries are best served within 12 hours and keep up to 2 days in the fridge. Undipped cherries in amaretto can be stored up to 3 months refrigerated.
