Ingredients

1 ½ lb ground chuck

3 Tbsp sour cream

2 Tbsp ranch dressing mix

⅓ cup cooked and crumbled bacon

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Hamburger buns

Lettuce, tomato, mustard, mayo (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground chuck, sour cream, ranch dressing mix, crumbled bacon, and shredded cheddar cheese. Mix until well combined, but avoid overmixing to keep the burgers tender.
  2. Shape the mixture into 6 evenly sized hamburger patties. Press a small dimple in the center of each patty to prevent puffing up during grilling.
  3. Preheat your grill, grill pan, or stovetop skillet to medium heat. Grill the patties until they reach your preferred doneness, using a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature: 130-135°F for medium-rare, 140-145°F for medium, or 160°F for well-done. Avoid pressing down on the patties to preserve their juiciness.
  4. Serve the burgers on your favorite buns with lettuce, tomato, mustard, and mayo. Add other toppings like pickles, onions, or avocado, and toast the buns for an extra crispy texture if desired.

Notes

  • For a lighter option, use ground turkey or chicken.
  • Substitute cheddar cheese with Monterey Jack, pepper jack, or a Mexican blend for a different flavor profile.
  • You can freeze the patties for up to 3 months by wrapping them tightly in plastic wrap and storing them in a freezer-safe bag.
  • Feel free to customize toppings with your favorites like grilled onions, pickles, or an egg on top for added richness.
