Ingredients

1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

½ teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

½ cup unsalted butter, room temperature

½ cup sugar

½ cup packed brown sugar

½ cup plain Greek yogurt

1 to 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  4. In a separate mixing bowl or stand mixer, beat the butter, sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy, about 6 minutes, scraping down the sides as needed.
  5. Mix in the Greek yogurt and vanilla until blended.
  6. Add the flour mixture to the bowl and beat until combined, scraping down the sides as necessary.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  8. Using a small cookie scoop, portion the dough and place on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden.
  10. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 to 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  11. Cool completely before storing in an airtight container.

Notes

  • No chilling time required.
  • For whole wheat version, replace half the flour with whole wheat flour.
  • Add nuts or dark chocolate for flavor variations.
  • Store at room temperature for up to 5 days or freeze for 3 months.
  • To reheat, microwave for about 10 seconds.
