Ingredients

Gummy Mixture

  • 1/2 cup Fireball whiskey
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon unflavored gelatin
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • Red and white food coloring (optional)

Garnish

  • Crushed candy cane pieces

Instructions

  1. Heat the sugar mixture: In a small saucepan over low heat, combine 1/2 cup water and 1/4 cup granulated sugar. Stir continuously until the sugar is completely dissolved, creating a warm syrup base for the gummies.
  2. Bloom the gelatin: Sprinkle 1 tablespoon unflavored gelatin evenly over the sugar water mixture. Whisk thoroughly until the gelatin is fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth without lumps.
  3. Add flavorings: Remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in 1/2 cup Fireball whiskey and 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract evenly into the gelatin mixture. If you want a candy cane swirl effect, divide the mixture into two portions, adding red food coloring to one half.
  4. Pour into molds: Lightly grease silicone gummy molds or a small baking dish to prevent sticking. Pour the red and white mixtures alternately to achieve a festive swirl pattern.
  5. Chill to set: Refrigerate the molds for at least 2 to 3 hours, or until the gummies have fully firmed up and can be easily removed from the molds.
  6. Serve and garnish: Carefully pop the gummies out of the molds. Sprinkle crushed candy cane pieces on top of each gummy for a festive holiday garnish and added texture.

Notes

  • Use silicone molds for easiest gummy removal and best shape definition.
  • Adjust peppermint extract quantity based on your flavor preference.
  • Keep gummies refrigerated and consume within 3 days for best freshness.
  • Always enjoy responsibly as these contain alcohol.
  • Red and white food coloring is optional, but adds to the candy cane aesthetic.
