Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 10-15 blueberries
  • 8 mint leaves
  • 1/2 lime (or 1/2 oz lime juice)
  • 1 teaspoon powdered monkfruit sweetener or sugar
  • 1 cup soda water, lime sparkling water, or kombucha
  • 1 oz non-alcoholic rum (optional)

Instructions

  1. Muddle Blueberries: Place the blueberries in your glass and gently muddle them using a muddler or the back of a spoon until the berries burst and release their juices, creating a flavorful base for the mocktail.
  2. Add Lime and Sweetener: Squeeze the juice of half a lime or add lime juice to the glass along with your choice of monkfruit sweetener or sugar. Muddle again to combine and dissolve the sweetener properly.
  3. Add Mint: Lightly smack the mint leaves between your hands to release their essential oils and aroma. Add the mint leaves to the glass, enhancing the freshness and herbal notes of the drink.
  4. Assemble the Drink: Fill the glass with ice cubes to chill the mixture. If using, pour in the non-alcoholic rum or a splash of apple cider vinegar for added depth of flavor.
  5. Top and Garnish: Top off the glass with your choice of soda water, lime sparkling water, or kombucha. Stir gently to blend all the ingredients, then garnish with a sprig of mint or a couple of blueberries before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute fresh lime juice for half a lime for convenience.
  • Powdered monkfruit sweetener provides a low-calorie alternative to sugar.
  • The non-alcoholic rum is optional and can be omitted for a purely non-alcoholic version; apple cider vinegar is a creative alternative adding a subtle tang.
