Ingredients

1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuits, cut into quarters

1 lb breakfast sausage

2 cups frozen hashbrowns, thawed

1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese

2 cups milk

3 tbsp all-purpose flour

0.5 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish to prevent sticking.
  2. In a medium skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess grease.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, thawed hashbrowns, and biscuit pieces.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, flour, salt, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese until smooth and well-combined.
  5. Pour the milk mixture over the sausage and hashbrown mixture, gently stirring to combine everything.
  6. Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and the cheese is bubbling and melted.
  8. Let the casserole cool slightly before serving and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a lighter version, swap the breakfast sausage for turkey sausage and use reduced-fat cheese.
  • For a vegetarian option, skip the sausage and add vegetables like bell peppers, spinach, or mushrooms.
  • To make it spicy, add diced jalapeños or chili flakes to the sausage.
  • If you’re a cheese lover, feel free to add extra cheese on top before baking.
