Ingredients

1 piece Italian or ciabatta bread (about 45 inches long)

1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon garlic paste or minced garlic

2 tablespoons freshly shredded fontina cheese

Sprinkle of dried Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix melted butter and garlic until well combined.
  2. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly onto the cut side of the bread using a pastry brush or spoon.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F.
  4. Place the bread, cut side up, in the air fryer basket.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the buttered bread and press gently so it adheres.
  6. Lightly sprinkle dried Italian seasoning on top.
  7. Air fry for 2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is warmed through.
  8. Cut into 3 slices and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use mozzarella, cheddar, or Parmesan instead of fontina for a different flavor.
  • Add red pepper flakes for a spicy version.
  • Use olive oil instead of butter for a lighter option.
  • Make it vegan by using plant-based butter and dairy-free cheese.
  • Store leftovers in foil in the fridge for up to 2 days; reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for 2 minutes.
