Ingredients

Main:

450 g ground beef

6 slices beef bacon, cooked and crumbled

120 g shredded cheddar cheese

24 frozen tater tots

120 g shredded mozzarella cheese

75 g diced onions

Sauce:

60 ml ketchup

60 ml mayonnaise

60 ml mustard

Seasoning:

Salt, to taste

Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F) to ensure the tater tots bake up crispy.

Cook the Beef and Bacon: In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat. Stir in the crumbled bacon, diced onions, ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, salt, and black pepper. Remove from heat.

Prepare the Tater Tot Cones: Hollow out each tater tot carefully to create a cone shape, being careful not to break them.

Stuff the Cones: Fill each tater tot cone with the beef and bacon mixture. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.

Bake the Cones: Place the stuffed tater tot cones on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 15–20 minutes until golden and the cheese is melted.

Add Mozzarella Cheese: Mix shredded mozzarella cheese with any leftover beef and bacon mixture. Top the baked cones with this mixture.

Final Bake: Return the cones to the oven and bake for another 5–10 minutes until the mozzarella is bubbly and golden. Serve immediately

Notes

You can make these tater tot cones ahead of time and store them in the fridge for up to 4 hours before baking. Add 2–3 minutes to the baking time if needed.

For variations, swap out the ground beef for turkey or vegetarian crumbles and try different cheeses like pepper jack or Swiss.

For an extra kick, add diced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the beef mixture.
